Some symbols may appear as squares or question marks. This happens if the user doesn’t have all the system’s fonts required to read the symbols or characters.
Using these cool symbols in facebook
You can copy and paste these cool fonts into your facebook profile, but facebook doesn’t allow you to style your text too much. You’re not able to make it bigger or smaller, or change its color.

To type these symbols using alt key codes
Yes, you can definitely type all these symbols with your own keyboard. You can even find new cool characters other than those we shown here. To type a cool character, hold alt and press any 4-5 digits numbers, then release the alt key when you’re done. The character will then appear. To know what’s the alt code for each characters and symbol in the list below, you can use the character conversion tool below. For example this symbol – Ⓐ, paste this into the first text box of the tool, click convert and you can see – Ⓐ appear in the other box. The number 9398 is actually the alt key codes of the symbol/character. You can now try it by holding alt key, press 9398 and release the alt key. I’ve tested this in Windows Live Messenger, Microsoft Word, Facebook and Twitter. It seems like you can’t type them using alt key codes in any web browsers, but you can do that in other applications such as WLM and Microsoft Office.
