Cheap yet powerful!

31BujwxFwcL._SL160_ Sapphire Radeon HD4550 512MBThis card is only recommended for those who are looking for a low budget graphic card. It’s now selling at only $39.99 on Amazon. Although it has been in the market since February of 12, 2009, yet it’s still a powerful graphic card that can probably afford to play some of the newly released games. It’s being rated one of the top budget graphic cards in many websites. If you’re to upgrade your computer just for a clearer, smoother and lagless display when browsing the internet or watching any movie, you should definitely take our recommendation, consider buying yourself a Sapphire Radeon HD4550 512 MB DDR3 VGA/DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Video Card 100252HDMI.

Why wasting your money for a over powered graphic card?

If you’re not a gamer, this card should be more than enough to run your daily tasks very smoothly. Of course, going for the latest and greatest (read: fastest and most expensive) is not always an option. Up until a couple years ago the budget graphics scene was barren to say the least. Buying a graphics card for $100 or less would sentence you to mediocre performance on substandard quality. Thankfully, that’s no longer the case.

Purchased the Sapphire Radeon HD4550 for a home theatre PC. Works perfectly in Windows 7. What I liked the most is the HDMI connector on the board. If you install the full catalyist driver for the card you get up to 7.1 sound in the HDMI connection. One cable to your TV, for audio and video. Fits small form factor and full height exspansion slots. With the low price, HDMI and passive cooling. I don’t think you can find a much better Video card for making a HTPC.

Support: So far there have been no problems so I haven’t sought any technical support. The catalyst drivers are excellent and up to date.

Overall:
Pros: Price is great for anyone on a budget, the low-profile feature is great for anyone with a slim case, modest power consumption, HDMI/DVI/VGA slots are perfect for multimedia.
Cons: Sub-par for playing the latest games, conversion to low-profile is not documented in the directions and is somewhat of a tight fit.
