YouTube Videos Are Now In High-Quality

youtube-high-quality-vidYoutube recently said that they’re now giving you the opportunity to watch their videos in high-quality. Well, not all videos will be in high-quality but only some, based upon the source file uploaded to them. However, they said that they’re slowly integrating this option, eligible videos will be the first available in high-quality, and soon we’ll find a greater percentage of the library is available to view in higher quality.

How to watch their videos in HQ? All you have to do is go to your youtube Account page and select “always show me higher quality when available”. If you don’t want this feature to be enabled, select “never show me higher quality”.

They also said that all videos with HQ have a link below the video player that allows you switch between normal or high quality settings, but I don’t see this link. Maybe they’re working on that now. I really hope to see the link soon!

By the way, make sure you have a fast internet connection before enable this feature, otherwise you might find that videos don’t play as quickly or smoothly as you’re used to.

*Glossary: HQ = High-Quality smiley
