Switch Windows Live Messenger 2011 to Compact View (Classic)

Prefer the classic Messenger view? WLM 2011 says no worries! Some people might not like the new social connection feature in WLM 2011 or they simply don’t play facebook, in this case they would have no use for the full view. If you too don’t like the big full view Messenger 2011 offers you, you can easily switch it to the compact view, which looks just the same as the previous versions. To do so:

switch to compact=

  1. Login to your Windows Live Messenger account.
  2. Click on your name which appears on the top right corner in WLM 2011 interface.
  3. Click Switch to Compact View.
  4. To return back to full view, repeat step 1-2 and then click on Switch to Full View.
