Solve Mediafire Continuous Refresh Download Problem

Submitted by on 21 Nov 2010 7 Comments

Sometimes Mediafire will keep refreshing and showing you the processing download request even after you’ve pressed click here to start download. This happens because Mediafire is prohibiting some countries from downloading at a certain time. It only happens for about 2 or more hours, so either you can wait it out or:

  • Internet Explorer users: Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete… -> select only Cookies -> Delete
  • Mozilla Firefox users: Go to Tools -> Options -> Privacy tab -> Show cookies -> Scroll down and look for mediafire cookies folder and delete it
  • Google Chrome users: Click on the Customize button -> Option -> Under the hood -> Clear browsing history -> Make sure Delete Cookies and other site data is checked -> Click Clear browsing data
  • Try to download again. It should work fine now.

This is off topic and maybe kinda dumb, but I have a question: if you go to mediafire and click the download link, once the download actually starts in your window, you can leave the mediafire website and the download will continue right? I am new to computers and would like any input possible. Thank you.

The instructions does not work for me. For google chrome, after the customize button there isn’t the option button. For firefox, after the privacy tab, i cannot find the show cookies button

Sorry, this doesn’t solve the problem. Now I don’t have any cookies from any websites for my entire browsing history.
