How to view System Information in Windows Vista and XP

Many people wonder what’s the secret information in their system and wish to see deeper into their system. Today tip will be about how to view system information via system utility in Windows Vista and XP.
If you pass by here, you should just try it out. Perhaps you would see what you want there.

What are the details you can see through the System Utility?

  • Host name
  • Operating System Information – name, manufacturer, configuration, build type
  • Who’s registered
  • Product ID
  • Original install date
  • System details – boot time, manufacturer, model, type
  • Processor(s) and Bios Version
  • Windows and System directory
  • Boot Device
  • System and Input Locale
  • Time Zone
  • Physical Memory
  • Page File
  • Domain/Group Name
  • Logon Server
  • Hotfix(s)
  • Network Card(s)

To open System Utility, follow the steps below:

  • Click on Start menu and select Run option.
  • Type cmd into the box in Run option and hit enter.
  • A command prompt will show up, type systeminfo in the command prompt and hit enter.
  • The system information will then show up in the command prompt
