Step 1: - msn messenger error code 80040154
Run Task Manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL buttons at the same time and select task manager (only if you have the welcome screen), or by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open it directly.

From the Windows Task Manager window, go to the Processes tab and seek for processes named msnmsgr.exe.

Terminate all msnmsgr.exe processes by selecting them and then press End Process.

Click Start -> Run -> type ipconfig /flushdns and hit ENTER (In Windows XP)
Click Start -> type ipconfig /flushdns in the search box and hit ENTER (In Windows 7 and Vista)
